Fourth Street is a beautiful area to explore by bike. Directly off some of the city’s main bike routes and paths, cycling to and in the neighbourhood couldn’t be easier.

The shops and restaurants of 4th Street are just a quick detour off of the 12th Avenue cycle track, making it a convenient break during your evening commute home. Another nice bike route through the area crosses 4th Street at 22nd Avenue and carries on to 19th Avenue, traveling through Lower Mount Royal.

One of the most scenic routes to ride is the Elbow River Pathway, conveniently accessible from 4th Street. Following the Elbow River Pathway south will bring you to Stanley park. Located along the Elbow River, it is a provides a great place for picnicking, offers an outdoor swimming pool, Fishing and canoe access to the Elbow River, and lawn bowling.

If you head north, the Pathway continues to follow the river, making its way through Inglewood and eventually connecting with the Bow River Pathway.

This summer, explore 4th Street by bike. When you need a break, find a bike rack and relax on one of the street’s great patios.
