There are few things worse than going to the DIY car wash and ruining your shoes or outfit with sudsy greywater. Not to mention, it can be impossible to get every part of your car cleaned before dumping more change into the machine!
Did you know that you can get your vehicle detailed on 4th Street for less than the cost of a nice dinner? Yup – you read that right! Starting at just $42!
No need to pre-register or pay hundreds of dollars to get the inside and outside of your ride sparkling clean. Simply drive up to Petro-Canada, located at 1920 4 St SW and drop your vehicle off. While they work hard on your car, you can enjoy everything 4th Street has to offer – and you won’t need to pay for parking!
Since the car detailing operates on a first-come-first-served basis, we’ve got a few recommendations on what you can do while waiting for your sparkling clean vehicle.
Grab A Bite
There are plenty of incredible restaurants all along 4th Street just waiting for you! A short hop and a skip from Petro-Canada is Hana Sushi. They have a great lunch bento box special that’s sure to leave you satisfied.
If you’re not in the mood for sushi, Blaze Pizza is located almost next door just a quick block south of Petro-Canada. Perfect for a fast bite, Blaze lets you customize your pizza to your liking. If a burger is your preferred fast food, we can’t recommend Burger Inn enough! Whether you want a single, a triple, or free-range beef – Burger Inn has you covered. They even offer deluxe specialty burgers including wild boar, elk, salmon or turkey to name a few.
Jinya Ramen Bar is half a block north from the car wash, so you can warm up with a bowl of delicious noodles while your car is being detailed.
Run Your Errands
With TD Bank and Scotiabank conveniently located across the street, it’s easy to attend to your financial errands while you wait. There is a UPS Store also across the street, perfect for dropping off your mail.
You can also walk a block south and swing by BronzeBaxx for a quick tanning session to boost your mood or prepare for any upcoming tropical vacation!
If you don’t mind a little bit of a longer walk, Shoppers Drug Mart is only five blocks south of Petro-Canada. Fill your prescriptions or grab a few health and beauty items. Across the street from Shoppers Drug Mart is a local Safeway, perfect for grabbing a few grocery items during your wait.
4th Street is one of the best places in Calgary to enjoy some people watching. If you’re not getting your car detailed around mealtime and all your errands are done, we recommend grabbing a coffee and a window (or patio) seat to take in all the sights and sounds of 4th Street!
Joyce Pub is a great place for a quick mocktail (remember: no drinking and driving) on their wrap-around corner patio. If it’s too chilly outside, score a cozy booth inside to watch all the passersby.
