A great photo of the lovely chef at Anejo!
Now, Let’s get to know one our favorite guys on 4th and one of the owners at Anejo, Jeff Hines!
How long has Anejo been on 4th Street?
Jeff Hines: Since September 2012, when we opened Añejo!
You definitely feel like you leave Calgary when you walk through the doors, what was the inspiration behind Anejo?
Jeff Hines: Having worked in hospitality for many years, and seeing an opportunity for a lively & authentic Mexican place in Calgary! I’ve had a place in Mexico for many years; I love the culture, the people, and of course the weather.
What’s something we might not know about Añejo?
Jeff Hines: Hmmmm, we have the largest tequila collection in Canada (over 200), and i’ve tried all of them 🙂
Well, that’s impressive! One fun fact about yourself?
Jeff Hines: If i’m not working, i’m surfing.
And of course, What you love most about 4th Street?
Jeff Hines: It’s got a great vibe, almost eclectic. It’s really boomed in the last 4 years, I love the small town/neighbourhood feel, knowing people as you walk down the street…
We couldn’t agree more!! Okay, and your one guilty pleasure?
Jeff Hines: Tacos of course!
Your favorite thing about of Mexico?
Jeff Hines:… it’s awesome.
Well we have to agree with that!! Okay, last but not LEAST… Your favourite Tequilla?
Jeff Hines: Of the ones we are able to carry – Casa Dragones!in the world – Siete Leguaz or Fortaleza
Amazing, Thank you so much Jeff!
P.S. Don’t forget to take Jeff’s word and make Taco’s at Añejo your new guilty pleasure!
