For the second year running, 4th Street’s Shokunin has made the top 50 list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants. They claimed 39th spot in 2017, and have moved up to 35th this year.
Serving contemporary Japanese cuisine, the 50-seat restaurant offers seasonal and local ingredients combined with traditional Japanese techniques and flavours.
Insiders know to ask for the secret menu, an always-changing menu of Chef-owner Darren MacLean’s choice. And the best seats in the house? Grab one of four seats at the chef’s bar, where you’ll be front row to all the action in the kitchen.
On a beautiful summer day, Shokunin’s great patio is the place to be. They offer an extensive cocktail list and even craft their own gin, which will be on special all summer long served as a delicious G&T.
New this summer, Shokunin will be opening Mission’s first take-out window. The menu will include Wagyu beef corndogs, fried chicken with ramen gravy, and matcha ice cream. Stay tuned for an opening date close to Stampede time.
